Description
A Louis XVI style painted wood bedstead (American, late 19th century) designed by Ogden Codman, Jr. (American, 1863-1951) and attributed to the manufacturer A. H. Davenport Co., Boston and East Cambridge, MA. The bed is painted light green with the moldings and carvings painted in ivory/cream. The square headboard and footboard have rosette leaf spandrels surrounding oval panels with leaf molding. The bed is raised on four short tapered fluted legs.
