Description
A Louis XVI style jardiniere (French, late 19th century) composed out of mahogany with ormolu mounts. The square top has a raised pierced ormolu gallery, at center is a removable green painted metal plant basin with two handles. The exterior sides of the compartment are decorated with ormolu mounts in the form of laurel leaves tied with a crinkled bow surrounded by oblong rectangular fames, the rounded corners have mounts in the form of flaming torches with crinkled bows. Below are two shelves with raised ormolu gallery surrounds. The whole is raised on four cylindrical tapered legs terminating in cast sabots.
