Description
A pair of Louis XVI style gilded bronze andirons (French, c. 1880) modelled as fluted urns with lion masks and ring handles on the sides. The lids are decorated with acanthus leaves and inverted grape cluster finials and raised on waisted bases. The bases are draped with oak leaves and acorn swags that rest on circular pedestals raised on three elaborate S-scroll legs. Appendages to one side bear flaming urns with ring handles raised on acanthus-clad fluted plinths.
