Description
A pair of Renaissance Revival carved oak and parcel-gilt sideboards (French, c. 1900) from the workshops of Jules Allard & Sons, Paris. The sideboards feature long D-shaped green marble tops above gadrooned aprons fitted with four drawers, each with an ormolu drop pull handle. The front is raised on four winged caryatid supports terminating in large paw feet. The back supports are in the form of six fluted columns flanked by S-scrolls below eagle heads and arch supports. The front and back are joined by a lower conforming D-shaped platform stretcher.
