Description
Eight Baccarat crystal and gilded bronze six-light wall sconces (French, c. 1900) made by Maison Baguès of Paris, installed in the dining room of The Elms. Each has an elaborate cartouche shaped backplate centering an oval pendant with an S-scroll arm decorated with a lion's mask and supporting five S-shape candle arms centering on a fluted torchere with a flame shape frosted glass shade. The five scrolling acanthus clad candle arms are decorated with fish heads and terminate in circular drip pans and guilloche band decorated candle cups. The framework is hung with crystal bead garlands and large pendant shape crystal drops. The bottom is anchored with a large crystal ball.
