Description
A Chinese export blue and white beaker vase (Chinese, c. 1820 - 1850) with a straight neck and flaring rim. The center section is squat and bulbous and sits on a tall flaring foot. The lower section is painted in an inky underglaze blue with two continuous scenes, one above the other, of fishing boats in a calm sea near island pavilions. The neck and band feature tall, stiff leaves above a key fret border. The straight sided rim includes a trellis diaper band corresponding to the lower foot rim border.
