Description
A pair of cylindrical Louis XVI style wine coolers (French, 19th century) with bodies of green polished Russian malachite fitted with gilt-silver mounts and handles, the mounts are attributed to Vincent Du Bois, l’Hotel De Ateliers, Paris. Around the opening rim is a band of open curling acanthus leaves within parallel bands of spiral ribbon molding, on either side of the top are handles of arched open-work acanthus leaves, and the ring base is decorated with a band of leaves. The interiors are fitted with ormolu cylindrical bottle liners.
