Description
A pair of Charles X style gilded bronze figurines (French, c. 1825) of putto musicians on contemporary columnar bases. The figures are copied after a c. 1800 model by the French bronzier Louis Auguste Hervieu (d. 1811). The figures are clad in sashes and dance as they play instruments, .1 holds a tambourine and .2 plays the triangle. The figures are supported by columnar bases decorated with a floral lattice pattern and are raised on square plinths.
