Description
A pair of emerald green vases (Bohemian, c. 1880) with painted armorial enamel decoration, done in the style of Ludwig Lobmeyr (Austrian, 1829-1917). The vases are of cylindrical form, flaring out at the bottom in a circular foot. The opening rim and bottom are painted with a gold and blue fleur-de-lys border. They are painted at center with a large coat-of-arms flanked by rampant lions and topped with heraldic crests in tones of gold, red, white, blue, black, and green. The vases are painted throughout with scattered flower-heads and have raised circular rosettes around the bottom. The pair are original to The Elms.
