Description
A figurine of Venus and Cupid (German, late 19th century) made by the Furstenberg Porcelain Factory. In the grouping a scantily clad woman (Venus) in puce drapery reaches down to her left foot which rests on a stump, a winged Cupid with a bow and arrow slung on his back is in attendance behind her. The circular mound base and stump are colored in grey and green. The sides of the base are lightly molded with white and gold scrolls. The underside is marked with a blue script “F” and the number “5”, it is also incised “5w.”
