Description
A Louis XV style armchair (French, 19th century) with a white painted beechwood frame. The cartouche-shaped molded back is decorated with two gilt flower heads along the crest rail at center, the open armrests stand on curved supports, the shaped apron and knees are decorated with gilt flower heads (similar to the crest rail). The whole is supported by four cabriole legs. The back, manchettes (padded armrests), and seat are upholstered in a floral green silk velvet secured with brass nail studding.
