Description
A Louis XVI revival style music chair (French, 19th century) composed of gilt-wood with a loose seat cushion upholstered in green velvet. The chair has a rectangular open lyre shaped back, its rectangular frame is carved with foliate spiral ribbon molding and a beaded edge. Below the caned balloon-shaped seat is a rail carved with foliate spiral ribbon molding and flower-head blocks above the four legs. The front legs are in the form of bundled rods with foliate capitals, the rear legs are fluted, all end in toupie feet.
