Description
A Chippendale mahogany wing chair (American, Newport, 1750-1790) upholstered in a modern green damask. The chair has a serpentine crest above an upholstered back and serpentine-shaped wings continuing to out-scrolled arm supports. The seat has a loose cushion on a straight seat rail. The whole is supported by four legs, the front two are cabriole in shape and end in ball and claw feet, the rear legs are splayed and terminate in block feet. The legs are joined by four spindle and block turned stretchers.
