A trunk (French, late 19th century) made by Louis Vuitton Co., the brown canvas exterior is painted with a band of blue and orange running across the top and sides, the sides are painted with the monogram “CV” for Cornelius Vanderbilt II (1843-1899) and are inscribed “NY” in black on the lower right corner. The interior is lined with cotton.
