Description
An American silver cann (Boston, c. 1760) made by Daniel Henchman (American, 1730-1775). The cann is pear shaped with a slightly flaring rim. A coat of arms including two birds and swags above a shell shaped cartouche with crescents and chevrons and acanthus leaves on three sides decorates the front. The cann has a scrolled handle with scroll thumbpiece and a low foot rim. The underside is struck "Henchman."
