Description
A libation cup (Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 18th century) composed of rhinoceros horn in fine detail. The flared body is in the form of a lotus blossom with fluted edges and a tapered foot. On either side, extending from the top of the cup to the foot, are high relief carvings of swarming dragons. The rim of the foot depicts low relief carvings of Buddhist lions. The whole is raised on a carved wooden base.
