Description
A blue and white vase (Chinese, Qing Dynasty, mid-19th century) of baluster form with a straight neck and flattened shoulders, at the bottom it curves in forming a high foot. The front is painted with three sages on a fenced terrace, one carries scrolls, the second a fly whisk, and the third has his hand raised. Behind the fenced terrace is a large tree with stylized clouds above. Around the neck are two floral sprigs. The vase is painted on the underside in blue underglaze with a four character script reign mark.
