Description
Figurine of a seated Buddha (Chinese, 20th century) composed out of carved tourmaline (purple quartz). The Buddha figure is depicted with his legs crossed, his left hand rests on his lap with the palm facing up and his right hand rests on his leg with the palm turned down. The underside of the figure is incised with a circular mark with four ruyi shaped radiating lobes. The whole is raised on a wooden base carved as a stylized lotus flower.
