Description
A vase (Chinese, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period, c. 1750) composed of soft paste porcelain glazed in turquoise blue. The bottle shaped base has a bulbous body and a tall neck that flares slightly out towards the rim, a removable metal ring sits on the opening, the whole is raised on a waisted foot. The interior and exterior are covered with a finely mottled blue glaze, the exterior is decorated in gray with a dragon and bats flying amidst clouds. On the underside the vase is marked with a seal-form script (zhuanshu) Qianlong (1736-1795) reign mark.
