Description
A set of four “pekin” pattern dinner plates (English, 1907-1923) produced by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Etruria, England. The transferware pattern plates are edged in red glaze and decorated around the rim and at center in an Asian inspired floral pattern in tones of blue, green, red and yellow/orange against a white ground. The underside of plate PSNC.4926.3 in the set is stamped in blue “PEKIN / WEDGWOOD / ETRURIA ENGLAND”, as well as impressed “WEDGWOOD” along with the three-letter date code “3EN” (indicating it was manufactured between 1907-1923), and is hand marked in red “A4197 / 6”.
