Description
A Louis XVI Revival giltwood bergère chair (French, c. 1906) with ornately carved crest rail en chapeau. The shaped rail has two acanthus finials above the closed sides, guilloche banding slopes down to padded armrests ending in scrolled terminals on bulbous columnar supports. The seat rail is carved with intertwining ribbon and is raised on four tapering, spiral fluted legs. The back, seat, and padded armrests are upholstered in Vieux Rose damask.
