Description
A Victorian carved armchair (American, 19th century) made of mahogany and burgundy velvet upholstery. The chair is raised on four cabriole legs, the front two of which connect to the arm support. Velvet upholstery starts at the manchette and continues along the top rail of the chair’s back. A pierced splat acts as a backrest with a scrollwork design. The seat and back upholstery is edged with a braided trim.
