Description
A ballroom chair (American, 19th century) made of giltwood by Leon Marcotte. The back of the chair features a circular medallion of padding surrounded by laurel leaves and topped with a bow. A decorative splat and fluted stiles connect the medallion to a row of balusters serving as the lower rail of the backing. Pink, cream, and green florals decorate the upholstery of the seat and rests upon an apron decorated with pearl details and flowerheads. Two turned and fluted legs in the front and two splayed back legs support the chair.
