Description
A money box (German, 1826) made of sterling silver. The oval body of the bank is decorated with a rim of engraved flowers and leaves. The initials “AV” are engraved along the front above a laurel while the year 1826 is inscribed on the back similarly. The hinged, domed cover features a slit opening and locking mechanism. An unidentified makers mark of “C.S” is stamped on the bottom along with what it likely the Hamburg stamp of a three towered castle.
