Description
A snuff box (Dutch, Amsterdam, early 18th century) made of silver. A removable stepped lid rests atop a bulbous rectangle body. The whole is raised on four reversed C-scroll legs which are attached to the cut corners of the body. Stamped into the bottom are four marks, an axe as a duty mark, a āVā, three āXās beneath a crown for Amsterdam, and a final unidentified mark.
