Description
A Rococo revival repoussé box (Dutch, c. 1875) made of silver. A hinged lid tops the curved body of the box and is decorated with a dancing peasant couple. The body is bordered with a thin trim at the top and bottom, between the borders are five foliate cartouches with various exotic birds in the centers. Stamped on the bottom is a worn and unidentified maker’s mark that may be “JW”. The letters “TK” are also etched into the bottom.
