Description
A Rococo revival box (Austria-Hungary, Vienna, c. 1872) made of silver by Joseph Karl Klinkosch. The wide body is raised on four scroll feet and topped with a hinged lid. Foliate and C-scroll acanthus leaves decorate the over-hanging cover. The interior is split into two compartments down the center. Two marks are stamped on the interior of the lid, one a maker’s mark of “J.C.K” for Joseph Karl Klinkosch, the other is the Austria-Hungary Diana head for 1872.
