Description
A stamp box (American, c. 1900) made of sterling silver by the F.W. Smith Silver Company. The rectangular box features rounded corners and gadrooned trimming. A stylized shell decorates the center of the hinged lid, that when opened reveals two gold-washed compartments. Stamped into the underside of one of the compartments is “STERLING” next to a “S” within a circle with C-scrolls for F.W. Smith Silver Company, below is “28 / A”.
