Description
A pill box (Dutch, c. 1880) made of silver in an octagonal form with rounded corners. A hinged lid features a sunray motif and botanical trimming. The body of the box is surrounded in a geometric zig-zag pattern, broken up by plain banding, dot detailing, and an upper central heart. Stamped into the bottom of the box are two marks, one the Dutch passant lion, the other an unidentified maker’s mark, which possibly reads “HK” or “AK”.
