Description
An envelope stamp box (Austrian, dated 1910) made of sterling silver and enamel by Georg Adam Scheid. The envelope-shaped box is engraved on the front with “Mr. Barclay Rives / Vienna” in a hand-written script. The faux postmark in the top right corner reads “1/1 WIEN 9 / 30 111 10 / * a *”, referencing Alsergrund, the nineth district of Vienna, and the receiving date of March 30th, 1910. On the back of the piece is a blue wax seal monogram of “CH” made of enamel. Inside the flap of the envelope are two stamped marks, one the duty mark for Austria, the other the initials “G.A.S” for by Georg Adam Scheid.
