Description
A George III mirror (English, 1760-1790) made of mahogany and glass. A gilded wood frame borders the rectangular mirror and encases the body of the piece with both geometric and scrolling designs. The edges of the frame are decorated with acanthus leaves and flowers in high relief. Topping the mirror is a broken scroll pediment that ends in flowers and leaves. A large ho-ho bird with outstretched wings sits upon a tree centered between the scrolls.
