Probably the first thing noticed by most visitors to the new Hasbro Children's Hospital is a fountain made of glass with water flowing through it. Children and adults alike are charmed by the grace and harmony of the sculpture. It is the creation of the internationally known sculptor and local artist, Howard Ben Tre. It is one of several public commissions he has received. Ben Tre is highly regarded as a pioneer in the use of cast glass as a sculptural medium. He has received NEA fellowships for his work on three occasions and likewise has been awarded three RISCA grants.
