Description
A French Louis XVI style gueridon (center table) (French, c. 1880) attributed to the workshop of Paurl Sormani, Paris. The circular lapis lazuli top is inlaid with a tiger’s eye compass design at center. A delicate floral banding decorates the side rim of the table top. The gueridon stands on four delicate bonze doré caryatid legs modeled after Adam Weisweiler. The legs are joined by beaded interlaced stretchers and terminate in fluted toupie feet.
